‘Bhai loot macha rakkhi hai’ – Fans react as major updates on ODI World Cup 2023 ticket sales surface

The ODI World Cup 2023 will be hosted by India from October 5 to November 19

Jay Shah dops World Cup ticket updates

The Indian Cricket Board honorary secretary Jay Shah dropped major updates on the sale of Tickets for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. They hope to put up the tickets for sale by August 10 and the individual staging associations are asked to finalise their ticket prices by July 31. However, Shah reiterated the fact that fans will have to retain physical copies of the ticket and e-tickets will not be in use for the World Cup.

“We will make arrangements so that the physical tickets can be collected at seven-eight places one week prior to the match. We will make it hassle-free. We will start the e-ticket system in bilateral games first,” Shah said during an interaction with the media.

Free drinking water will be provided for all World Cup spectators

As per the provisions, the Apex Cricket Council and the Indian Cricket Board will receive 300 free hospitality tickets. The states will also provide 1295 tickets for league games, 1355 tickets for India and semi-final games to the Apex Council and 500 tickets to the Indian Cricket Board free of cost. Moreover, if the Apex Council or the Indian Board wants to buy additional tickets, the state will have to provide them. The state association can buy 40 tickets per game and 10% of the remaining will be purchased by the tour partners.

The Indian Cricket Board plans on providing free drinking water for all spectators.  “We will tie up with a company like Coca-Cola, which is the official partner of the Apex Cricket Council too. Coca-Cola’s water brand Kinley will be served in the stands. That’s what we are trying. Whether it will be a packaged water bottle or by the glass, we will get to know soon because there are some constraints with regard to the bottle. Whatever it will be, it will be completely free,” Jay Shah said. He also said that the Board is emphasizing concession-based quality food products with hygienic distribution and affordable pricing.
