‘Bhai ki technique hi galat hai CSK ya RR walo ke paas jana tha’ – Fans react as RCB fast bowler reports of betting approach to anti corruption unit

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Amid the ongoing Indian Premier League, star India pacer Mohammed Siraj has made a big revelation about the betting approach. Siraj, who was approached by a punter back in March 2023, has reported the incident to the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Indian Cricket Board. The man who approached Siraj is from Andhra Pradesh and has made huge losses in betting.

According to the report, the man texted Siraj during the ODI series against Australia and asked him to help to recover his losses. Siraj immediately reported the incident to the team management and ACU. After getting details from Siraj ACU along with Cyber Police traced the accused and nabbed him. He has been arrested by the police from his native house in Andhra Pradesh.

A source closely monitoring the issue told a news agency that Siraj received messages through WhatsApp and he reported it immediately. He said, “He sent messages on WhatsApp to Siraj informing him about the losses he incurred on betting and wanted his help. He requested the pacer to help him out. Siraj informed us about the approach.”

“The accused is not associated with any gang”, says AUC

The source further revealed that the punter is a bus driver and not related to any gang. He has been booked from Andhra Pradesh and AUC is constantly monitoring the situation. He said, “The accused is not associated with any gang nor does he record of betting. He lost a lot of money while betting on matches and was hoping Siraj would help him to get out of the situation.”

“We took the help of the cyber police. We also kept his phone under observation with the help of local police. Eventually, we traced him. Our officers accompanied local police when he was caught somewhere in Andhra”, he further added. Meanwhile, fans react to the incident:
