The World’s number T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav is yet to score a run in the ODI series against Australia. Chasing 270 runs against Australia in the series decider in Chennai, India have already lost 6 wickets and Suryakumar went for the golden duck for the third consecutive time in the series.

Surya came to bat after Virat Kohli got out trying to take on Ashton Agar on the first balls of the 36th over. On the very next ball Agar cleared the stumps of Surya to get back-to-back wickets. Surya seems to struggle to find good form in the ODI series. In the first two ODIs in Mumbai and Vizag, he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc both times on the very first ball.

Talking about the match, Australia got bowled out for 269 runs in 49 overs while batting first in the final ODI. The visitors started losing wickets at regular intervals after a good start. Travis Head and Mithcell Marsh put up an opening partnership of 68 runs in 10.5 overs, but later the score was reduced to 138 for 5. After that Alex Carey and Marcus Stoinis added 58 runs for the sixth wicket. The wickets again started falling regularly after the wicket Stoinis. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav scalped 3-3 wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel took 2-2 wickets.

Rohit-Gill loses wickets after a good start

Coming to chase the winning total, India got a firing start after skipper Rohit Sharma (30 off 17) and Shubnam Gill (37 off 49)added 65 runs in 9.1 overs. But, both openers got out after getting a good start. After that, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul took the innings further with a partnership of 69 runs for the third wicket.

Kohli got out after scoring a well-made fifty including 54 runs off 72 balls hitting two fours and a maximum. The pressure started building on India after Suryakumar Yadav got out on the very next ball. Currently Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja leading India to the winning total.
