Royal Challengers Bangalore and Madhya Pradesh player Rajat Patidar has posted an update on his recovery from a heel injury. Ahead of the ongoing IPL 2023, he was ruled out for half of the season. However, in the first week (April 4), Patidar was ruled out for the entire season. The MP player has gone through surgery and hasn’t been replaced by the RCB management.
“Just wanted to give a quick update to all my supporters out there. I recently underwent surgery for an injury that has been troubling me for a while now, but I’m happy to say that it went well and I’m on the road to recovery! Thank you all for prayers. Your RP,” Patidar posted on Twitter.

Rajat Patidar was named to the Indian team early this year
Meanwhile, early this year, New Zealand toured India for the white-ball series (ODIs and T20Is). Ahead of the ODI series, Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to a back injury. Currently, the latter’s injury reaggravated during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in February this year. This led to Iyer being ruled out of the ongoing IPL and the upcoming Global Test Championship final.
On the other hand, Patidar has been part of the RCB side since 2021. Last year, he went unsold but made his comeback only when Luvnith Sisodia got injured. In the Eliminator game against Lucknow Super Giants, the 29-year-old scored his maiden IPL century. Ahead of the 2023 player auction, he was retained but hasn’t been able to participate.
