‘Baarish bhai kahin toh rukja’ – Fans react to Pakistan team’s shenanigans after Day 2 got called off due to rain

Pakistan are currently ahead of Sri Lanka by 12 runs with 8 wickets in hand at stumps on Day two

During Day 2 of the second Test encounter involving Pakistan along with Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, Hasan Ali had no problems killing the spare time when the game was delayed due to rain. The Pakistani fast bowler can be seen laying down on the covers covered in rainwater in a clip that has now gone popular on social media.

Hasan Ali quickly jogged straight into his dressing room after enjoying the rain for a little period of time. A 17-second video that was uploaded to Twitter by a user shows Ali taking pleasure in the rain. Later 

Hasan Ali had a blast in Colombo during the rain delay, but the fast bowler missed every opportunity to play for Pakistan in the current two-match test series versus Sri Lanka which is the team’s first assignment for the third cycle of the World Test Championship.

In the scrimmage involving Pakistan and SLCBP, Ali took part and claimed three wickets within two innings. He scored 28 runs from his bat as well, but he was unable to make Pakistan’s starting lineup for the Test series.

Speaking about the second Test, the first session of the second day of the match involving Pakistan and Sri Lanka was limited to a mere 10 overs. In the two-game series, Pakistan is up 1-0. Yesterday, the second Test began in Colombo, where Sri Lanka’s first innings was dismissed for 166 runs.

In response, Pakistan were at 178/2 shortly after 38.3 overs before play was halted on the second day due to rain. Since 11:15 IST, rain has prevented bowlers from releasing even a single ball and eventually, the day was called off. Over the course of the game’s 43 minutes, Pakistan scored 33 runs. A 57-run unbroken stand for the third wicket between opener Abdullah Shaffique and captain Babar Azam has seen Shaffique reach 87* and Azam reach 28*.

Pakistan overcame Sri Lanka’s first-innings total of 166 when the game resumed with a score of 145-2 before a torrential downpour pushed the players off the field.
