The much-awaited Chappel-Hadlee series between Australia and New Zealand is all set to get underway on 6th September. The series which last took place in 2020 was cancelled after the first ODI due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As the world returns to normalcy after 2 years, the two sides are ready to treat the crowd with enthralling cricket action.
Australia recently won the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe by 2-1. The Aussies were blown away by Zimbabwe in the final ODI as they registered their first-ever loss against them on their home soil. The Australian team will look to brush aside their humiliating loss and start afresh in the upcoming series.
On the other hand, New Zealand, recently, defeated West Indies 2-1 in the One-Day series and will now look to continue their winning momentum against Australia. The Australian batting lineup will be tested against the deadly bowlers of New Zealand.
David Warner has been in sensational form of late and the team management will hope that the southpaw will continue the way he does. Mitchell Marsh will miss the series due to an injury while Pat Cummins has been rested. Travis Head has also made himself unavailable as his partner Jess is due to give birth to their child.
New Zealand will expect their captain Kane Williamson to return to form. The 32-year-old didn’t play a lot of ODIs in the last two years. New Zealand fans are hoping for their star batter to return back to form before the 20-20 world cup in Australia.
