India had a remarkable day at the ongoing Asian Games 2023, with multiple wins across different categories. The 10m air pistol women’s team, comprising Esha Singh, Palak Gulia, and Divya Thadigol, secured a silver medal, scoring a total of 1731 points. They were narrowly edged out by China, who clinched gold with 1736 points, while Chinese Taipei claimed the bronze with 1723 points.
In another event, the men’s 50m rifle 3P team, consisting of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Sunil Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran, won the gold medal. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar continued his winning streak, earning an individual silver in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event. India also dominated the women’s 10m air pistol individual final, with Palak securing gold and Esha Singh taking home the silver.
The Indian women’s squash team, featuring Joshna Chinappa, Tanvi Khanna, and Anahat Singh, claimed the bronze medal despite a tough 1-2 loss to Hong Kong in the semifinals. Additionally, Kiran Baliyan added to India’s medal tally by winning bronze in the women’s shot put with a throw of 17.36m in her third attempt.
Meanwhile, China reached a significant milestone, surpassing 100 gold medals and achieving an overall medal tally of 200.
