As Sarfaraz Khan finally gets his Test call-up, Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq took to Twitter to congratulate him. Even though the tweet was congratulatory, a lot of people in both nations were offended by it. Fans’ reactions and tweets were proof that the rivalry not only exists in the game but across borders. One thing that remained common among all the fans, was the criticism shown against Haq’s tweet as to why he tweeted for Sarfaraz.
As KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were ruled out of the 2nd Test match, Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar, and Sourabh Kumar were announced as replacements. Sarfaraz’s selection has certainly made the fans happy as he deserved to be in the team. If included in the playing 11, his current form will be quite helpful to the team. Since India will be missing Virat Kohli as well, other players will have to buckle up their performance as England is leading the series, 1-0.
His selection came after he scored a stunning 161 off 166, along with 18 fours and 5 sixes against the England Lions in the four-day unofficial match. India A went on to win the match by 16 runs while Sarfaraz was awarded the Player of the Match. This wasn’t the first time the 26-year-old has scored runs to catch the selector’s attention. However, this time he got lucky due to other players’ injuries.
“He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved” – Rohit Sharma praises Virat Kohli for his consistency and efforts
This is not the first time any player has praised Virat Kohli. However, Rohit Sharma’s statements at a press conference about Kohli show their bond and how supportive they are towards each other. Previously, when Rohit was having a bad phase, Kohli was extensively supportive toward him and now, Rohit is returning the favour. He praised Kohli for his efforts and the way he has kept himself motivated throughout these years. The captain wants youngsters to learn the dedication Kohli has for the game and his country.
Rohit said, “I have watched Kohli enough. He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved. He can say that I will take it easy in these 2-3 series, I will come later, but he is always there for the team. That mindset of being hungry and not complacent cannot be taught. You have to learn that from by looking at the others. It has to come from within. I cannot teach you that.”
