LSG Blunder? 3 players they shouldn’t have released for IPL 2024 Auction
There is a very high chance that Lucknow Super Giants may regret
Lucknow Super Giants have not released a whole list of players but surely have made some omissions. They have made sure of keeping the core of the team intact after a great performance in the last season of the Indian Premier League. Most of the players that they have released have either not performed or do not fit into their line-up.
They have let go of eight players and they also traded out two other players to other franchises ahead of the IPL 2024 Auctions. Some of the releases do seem to be a surprise since the players could have been a great success in the long run. Let’s take a look at the 3 players they should not have let go.

3) Daniel Sams
The left-arm speedster Daniel Sams was released by Lucknow Super Giants before the retention deadline. It was a surprise release because of the kind of skillset that he offers to any franchise. He was signed for a bargain price of INR 40 Lakhs so retaining him might not have cost the team a lot also.
Australian cricket player Daniel Sams has a broad range of abilities. In addition to his skill as a bowler, he can make a useful contribution at the bat by knocking in some runs. Because of his skills, he is a valuable all-round player who helps the Bangalore-based team in the lower level.
2) Karun Nair
When KL Rahul got injured midway through the tournament, Karun Nair replaced him for the remainder of the competition. It seems justified that the team management decided to let go off him. He did not get much game time but having an Indian batter in the squad can be a crucial one for such a long tournament.
The right-handed batter is a versatile player since he can play in a variety of positions. He can be a great opener since he can anchor an innings. Since KL Rahul has decided to bat in the middle order, Karun could have been played as an anchor in the batting order. There is a chance that the Lucknow Super Giants may have missed a trick by not trying him out effectively.
1) Jaydev Unadkat
One of the biggest releases by the franchises was Jaydev Unadkat. They have let go of one of the rarest categories of Indian bowlers that can be found. A lethal left-arm bowler from India is hard to find and to let-go of the pacer has sparked some debate. Lucknow Super Giants might regret losing the speedster to another franchise later on.
Jaydev has truly transformed his career through his domestic tournament performances. His performances have been mediocre in the Indian Premier League which may be one of the reasons for his release. On wickets with some assistance for pacers, he could have been one of the perfect players to have.
