IPL 2024: Three players Royal Challengers Bangalore could release before auctions
Three players Royal Challengers Bangalore could release before the IPL 2024 Auctions in Dubai on the 19th of December.
The Indian Premier League auctions are just a month away and the anticipation of the fans are building up. Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most loved teams in the history of the league. Despite its popularity the Bangalore based outfit is yet to win a title.
Last year, Mumbai Indians piped Royal Challengers Bangalore to reach the play-off stages. RCB lost to Gujarat Titans thanks to century from Shubman Gill which meant Mumbai Indians qualified in the fourth spot.
There is massive speculation on the likely retentions and releases ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions.
Here are the three likely players
3. Dinesh Karthik
After an exciting 2022 season, Dinesh Karthik was really out of sorts during the IPL 2023 season. In the 13 games he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, the 38-year-old could only score 140 runs. Dinesh Karthik had scored four ducks during the season with his best score being 30 versus Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
Dinesh Karthik had an average of 55 and a strike rate of 183 in the 2022 IPL season. The next year his average dipped to 11.6 and his strike rate was a lowly 134.6. it will not be surprising if Royal Challengers Bangalore part ways with the veteran player.
2. Wayne Parnell
The 34-year-old played seven games for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team during the IPL 2023 season. Wayne Parnell picked 3/10 in the game against Rajasthan Royals which was his best bowling figure.
Despite his good showing versus Rajasthan, Wayne Parnell just picked 9 wickets from his 7 games. His economy rate of 9.38 is Wayne Parnell’s worst return in his IPL career. It is hard to see Royal Challengers Bangalore retain the services of the veteran South African star ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions.
1. Finn Allen
Despite his amazing batting talents for New Zealand, Finn Allen hasn’t really been warmed up to as far as IPL is concerned. After being brought by Royal Challengers Bangalore the young Kiwi did not get any game time. The reason for that was the dynamic opening combination of Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli. Finn Allen might be the third casualty as far as the releases before the IPL 2024 auctions.
