ODI World Cup 2023
‘Issi liye Babar sirf 50 ka patrol dalwata hai’ – Fans react as reports reveal poor financial condition of Pakistan’s World Cup playing squad
Pakistan will take on Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 31st.
In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Team has been one of the most underperforming teams. The team has lost four consecutive games and is on the verge of elimination. Amid ongoing poor performances in the tournament, a news report reveals a possible reason behind Pakistan’s situation in the ongoing tournament.
A well-known journalist hailing from Pakistan revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board hasn’t paid salaries to players in the last four months. According to Pakistan Passion editor Saj Sadiq, the PCB has failed to pay monthly salaries to players in the last four months and forced them to play in big tournaments like the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023.
In a Twitter (now X) post, Saj said, “The last time Pakistan players were paid salaries by the Pakistan Cricket Board was in June 2023. They have not received any salary for over 4 months. #Cricket #CWC23.” It’s worth noting that in this period, Pakistan played back-to-back ODI cricket, including the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.
Will PCB pay a 20% match fine of players?
Meanwhile, making things worse, the Apex Cricket Council imposed a 20% fine on Pakistani players for a slow overrate against South Africa. Speaking about it, Saj said that the Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to pay the fine for now and will deduct the amount from players while they are paid. He said, “The likely scenario is that the PCB will pay the 20% fine that the Pakistan team incurred for a slow over-rate against South Africa. Then, when the players eventually get paid (they have not been paid for over 4 months), they will deduct the fine from their salaries.”
It’s worth noting that after losing four out of six games, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team is in a do-or-die situation. The team needs to win all of their games to stay alive in the race to the semifinals. However, their fate is now not in their hands, as they will be dependent on other results to make it to the semifinals. The team will take on Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 31st.
Here is how fans react to the financial condition of the Pakistan cricket team:
Bcz players have to sign contracts after signing contracts their salaris will be released..

No one cares. They're not starving, instead they're getting fatter. Shouldn't have got paid for playing against Zimbabwe and NZ C team to begin with.
