‘Super Stuff’ – Twitter goes berserk as Rahul Tewatia, David Miller guide Gujarat to yet another win
This was Gujarat’s seventh win of the season
Bangalore and Gujarat locked horns in the 43rd game of the Indian T20 League 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. For the second time in the tournament, a team won the toss and batted first. The Men in Red and Black batted first after winning the toss. They had an awful start as Faf du Plessis (0) was caught behind by Wriddhiman Saha off Pradeep Sangwan in the second over of the innings.
Notably, Sangwan played his first game in the Indian T20 League after 2018. At 11/1, Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli stitched a partnership of 99 runs. The highlight of the innings was Kohli returning to form with his first fifty of the season. The right-hander scored 58 runs off 53 balls, including six fours and a six. On the other hand, Patidar scored 52 off 32 balls.
Kohli got out to a yorker from Mohammed Shami while Patidar was dismissed by Sangwan. Cameos from Glenn Maxwell (33 off 18) and Mahipal Lomror (16 off eight) helped the team to reach 170/6. In reply, the Hardik Pandya-led side had a great start as openers Saha (29) and Shubhman Gill stitched a partnership of 51 runs. Saha was caught at long-off by Patidar off Wanindu Hasarnaga. Gill (31) followed in the next over as he was trapped lbw by Shahbaz Ahmed.
Two overs later, Ahmed took the big wicket of opposition skipper Hardik Pandya (3). Sai Sudharsan (20), who was playing after sitting out in the last few games, became the second victim of Hasaranga. From 51/0, they went to 95/4, needing another 76 runs to win in 7.1 overs. At this stage, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia started the quest to win the game for their side from a difficult situation. In the 15th and 16th over, they scored 13 and 15 runs respectively.
This brought the team closer to the target with the team needing 43 runs in four overs. In the end, both players remained unbeaten and won the game for their team with three balls left.

.@gujarat_titans seizing, dominating their first season is special. This is not an individuals team- there are multiple players you can rely on. They love to play under pressure and chase and that’s what exactly they’ve done @DavidMillerSA12 @rahultewatia02 ðŸ‘#GTvRCB #IPL2022

3rd consecutive loss for #RCB and they have 10 points from 10 matches in #IPL2022.

To have even one batter in this kind of form in that middle-order role is luxury for a team. And the Gujarat Titans have two of them firing on all cylinders! David Miller and Rahul Tewatia have really turned up with their best in IPL 2022.
