‘Ye terese nahi hoga’- Twitter slams Virat Kohli as he gets out on golden duck against RR in IPL 2023 match
RCB could only make 189 against RR.
Virat Kohli was the center of attraction when RCB faced RR at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday, April 23rd. All eyes were on the star India batter as he walked to the crease to face Trent Boult. Many would have expected the most popular cricketer to come out swinging against the RR bowler.
The reality however was totally different as Kohli was dismissed on the very first ball of the inning as Boult silenced the whole Chinnaswamy crowd. As soon as Kohli got out, cricket fans rushed to social media to have their thoughts known. There were memes and criticism of the batter who often struggles against a left-arm pacer.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Virat Kohli getting out on a duck against RR:

As for the first innings, RCB were dealt two major blows in terms of Virat Kohli and Shahbaz Ahmed’s wicket on just 12 runs. It was again the captain Faf du Plessis who took charge of the batting and came up with a quickfire 62 off just 39 with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes.
In form batter Glenn Maxwell also contributed significantly with 77 off 44 with 6 fours and 4 sixes. As soon as both got out, however, RCB’s weakness came to the foray as none of the other batters could help the scoreboard move further. Dinesh Karthik who has been going through a rough patch of form failed again as he could only make 16 off 13.
In the end, RCB could only make 189 runs on the board in 20 overs. Given RR’s strong batting line up, it seems like an easy total for the table toppers to chase down.
