‘Even Tushar Deshpande owns Rohit Sharma’- Fans troll Rohit Sharma as Tushar Deshpande rattles his stumps with the best delivery of the match

MI could score only 157 in their 20 overs.

Rohit Sharma did not have the best of times at the El Classico between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. The MI captain fell to his Mumbai teammate Tushar Deshpande after scoring 21 off 13 balls, with three fours and one six.

He got a beautiful ball from Deshpande which rattled his stumps. Rohit has not been in good form in the IPL over the past two years and this has put pressure on MI’s batting line up.

MI had a great start given by Rohit and Ishan Kishan. Kishan made 32 off 21 balls with five fours but he got out to Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja was in great form for CSK as he dried up the runs and made it tough for MI in the middle overs.

He picked up 3-28 in his four overs. Jadeja received good support from Mitchell Santner as the New Zealander picked up 2-28 in his four overs. Santner also got the big wicket of Suryakumar Yadav, who has been a beast in the IPL, over the years.

Tim David made 31 off 22 balls to help MI get to a competitive total

CSK put the chokehold on MI and did not allow them to break free. Only Tilak Varma and Tim David offered some resistance as Varma made 22 off 18 balls with two fours and one six. David made a handy 31 off 22 balls with one four and two sixes. Hrithik Shokeen chipped in with some invaluable runs in the end as he made an unbeaten 18 off 13 balls with three fours.

Mumbai could only get to 157-8 in their 20 overs. Sisanda Magala had an expensive over to start with, but he made a great comeback in his final overs. Dwaine Pretorious was also very good with the ball for CSK except for just one expensive last over.

CSK did their homework well and kept MI down to a low total. The Wankhede Pitch was initially good for batting but it slowed up later on and was not the easiest track to bat on. Mumbai would rue the fact that they were not able to get in one big partnership with the bat.
