The Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals battled it out at the Banaspara Stadium in Guwahati in the 11th match of IPL 2023 on Saturday. Yashasvi Jaiswal got RR off to a fantastic start with his belligerent hitting. He tore Khaleel Ahmed to bits in the first over itself and went on to smash 60 off 31 balls with 11 fours and one six.

Jos Buttler continued where he left off at Hyderabad as he made a wonderful 79 off 51 balls with 11 fours and one six. The openers gave RR the perfect platform. Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag could not get going at number 3 and 4. Samson perished to Kuldeep Yadav for a four-ball duck. Parag was castled by Rovman Powell for just 7 off 11 balls.

RR were in a precarious position at 126-3 when Parag had gotten out. But Buttler batted almost right throughout the innings and the finishing touch was provided by the hard-hitting Shimron Hetmyer. The left-hander scored 39 off just 21 balls which included one four and four massive towering sixes.

Rajasthan Royals got to a target of 200 due to a solid opening stand

RR set DC a target off 200 to chase. Mukesh Kumar was the best bowler for Delhi as he picked up 2-36. The DC bowling looked off colour for the third time in a row and even Anrich Nortje was not spared. The South African conceded 44 runs of his four overs.  DC did not have time to lick their wounds as they were kept down by RR for just 142-9, giving a 57 run win to DC.

The Indian players did not fire for DC even in this encounter. Powell did not have the most memorable start to this IPL season. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal were fantastic with the ball as they picked up three wickets each in their four overs spells. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 2-25 in his four overs and weaved his magic with the ball. Only David Warner and Lalit Yadav were among the runs for DC.

Warner made 65 off 55 balls with seven fours, while Lalit Yadav made 38 off 24 balls with five fours. Prithvi Shaw failed to score with the bat once again and Manish Pandey fell for a first ball duck in his debut game for DC.
