‘Injuries to Chennai: Tera Mujhse hai Pehle ka nata koi!’ – Fans react as star Chennai bowler doubtful to participate in Indian T20 League
Apart from Mukesh Chaudhary, Mohsin Khan will also miss out on Lucknow as he is suffering from an injury.
Ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023, injuries are haunting the Chennai franchise as many key players are set to miss the 16th edition of the tournament. After Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer, now Chennai’s star bowler Mukesh Chaudhary is doubtful to participate in the Indian T20 League. Apart from him, Mohsin Khan will also miss out on Lucknow as he is suffering from an injury.
Mukesh who has been Chennai’s go-to bowler in the last edition of the ITL will be a big miss for the team. In 2022,0 Mukesh clinched 16 wickets in 13 games. Mukesh Choudhary bothered the batters and didn’t give them enough room to score runs. However, speaking with a news portal CEO of Chennai has informed me that Mukesh’s participation is unlikely.
Speaking with Cricbuzz Chennai CEO Kasi Vishwanathan disclosed that Mukesh Choudhary’s participation in the ITL 2023 appears unlikely due to a back injury that hasn’t fully healed. He said, “We are waiting on Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out.”
Notably, Mukesh Chaudhary is currently rehabbing at National Cricket Academy and is keen to play in the upcoming games. Speaking about his recovery Mukesh in a recent interview said, “I am fine and hope to recover soon.” He is out of action since last December after suffering a back injury during a Ranji Trophy game.
Lucknow is concerned about Moshin Khan
Mohsin Khan, the deadly pacer for Lucknow is also going to miss the 16th season of the Indian T20 League. According to Cricbuzz, the team management refused to comment on his fitness issues. It is safe to consider that he will miss the first few games for Lucknow. Notably in 2022, Mohsin picked 14 wickets in nine games and has been phenomenal throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, fans react to the frequent news of injuries before the Indian T20 League. A Twitter user said “ise Indian injury league bolo.”
