Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants locked horns in the 15th game of the ongoing IPL 2023. The home team, Bangalore was looking to get back to the winning ways after losing badly to Kolkata Knight Riders the other day. On the other hand, the Super Giants were looking for their first win away from home. Meanwhile, in the game, LSG won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The decision was proved wrong as the Lucknow pacers were getting belted. In the five overs bowled by pacers in the powerplay, they conceded 48 runs. One over was bowled by Krunal Pandya and he gave away only eight runs in that. After the end of the powerplay, the Red Army’s scoring rate dropped as they went from 56/0 in six overs to 104/1 in 13 overs.

In the midst of this, former skipper Virat Kohli scored 61 off 44 balls including four fours and as many sixes. After his wicket, the likes of skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell hit counter-attacking fifties. From 104/1 in 13 overs, the team reached 212/2 at the end of the innings.

Nicholas Pooran almost single-handedly turn the game for Lucknow Super Giants

In reply, the KL Rahul-led side had a poor start as they lost the wicket of in-form, Kyle Mayers on the fourth ball of the innings. In the fourth over, Wayne Parnell took two wickets to further dent the opposition. He has replaced Reece Topley who got in the game against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Marcus Stoinis (65) played a counter-attacking inning to keep the team in the game.

On the other hand, skipper Rahul struggled his way to 20-ball 18. However, after the duo got out, the team scored 105/5. At this stage, Nicholas Pooran and Impact sub-Ayush Badoni took on the bowling with the former doing the heavy lifting. The former West Indies skipper scored 62 off 91 balls to bring back the team in the game before getting out to Mohammed Siraj. Even though the last over saw a bit of drama, the Blue brigade crossed the line after losing nine wickets and on the last ball.
