India will organise their first ODI World Cup in 2023
It’s worth noting that India will host the prestigious tournament for the first time on its own. The tournament will kick off on October 5, with defending champions England taking on New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5. However, India will face Australia in their first game of the tournament on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The team will also face arch-rival Pakistan on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The neighbours will face each other after two games in the Asia Cup 2023. India have been phenomenal against them in ODIs, beating them in the Asia Cup Super 4 game by the biggest margin of 228 runs. However, the Pakistani team has yet to receive their visas for the prestigious tournament.
