Haris Rauf, the Pakistan speedster, will miss the rest of the Pakistan Super League due to a fractured shoulder. The 30-year-oldleft the game on Friday night after suffering a shoulder injury while fielding against the Karachi Kings. To get back to full fitness, he will require four to six weeks.
A Lahore Qalandars spokesperson said that, “MRI scans and other tests have shown he has a disclosed shoulder which will take time to heal so he is out of the PSL.”
Lahore Qalandars, who were the reigning champions, has not won at all four of its games, which is a shock. On Saturday, they faced defeat to Karachi Kings by two wickets in the last over. It would likely take Haris some time to heal from his shoulder injury. The Pakistan Cricket Board recently revoked his central contract due to disciplinary reasons.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of the Lahore Qalandars spoke about the unexpected injury of Haris Rauf. He said, “As a team, we are deeply saddened by Haris Rauf’s injury. It was painful to see him missing out as he’s been a pillar of strength for us, and his absence will be felt. In the face of adversity, we stand united, and I have full confidence that the team will rise to the occasion.”
“We eagerly await his return to the field” : Shaheen Shah Afridi on Haris Rauf’s absence
The Lahore Qalandars skipper spoke about how he is also the main bowler for Pakistan. Considering the T20 World Cup is just around the corner, they would hope that he gets fit fast
The Pakistan T20I skipper said, “It’s indeed a setback for the franchise, but he is also Pakistan’s main bowler, and with a lot of cricket coming up, a pragmatic approach was to give him maximum time to recover. Wishing him a speedy recovery, and we eagerly await his return to the field stronger than ever. Our thoughts and support are with him during this challenging time.”
