‘Aap convince hogye yaa mai aur bolu’ – Venkatesh Prasad shoots down Aakash Chopra’s video invite to discuss ‘difference in opinion’ over KL Rahul’s place in XI

KL Rahul has been retained in the squad for the two remaining tests of the BGT. However, his vice-captain role has been snatched away.

Venkatesh Prasad vs Aakash Chopra

A Twitter war that started as a friendly disagreement between cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra and former India speedster Venkatesh Prasad over KL Rahul’s place in the Indian team took an ugly turn on Tuesday. Aakash Chopra had earlier questioned Prasad’s motive over his tweets on his YouTube channel, calling him an ‘agenda peddler’ and ‘cleverly misquoting’ Prasad.

In response, the former India speedster posted an array of six tweets to prove his point. In his pursuit, he also dug out Chopra’s eleven years old tweets on Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane. Chorpa then responded by inviting the 53-year-old former India speedster to a video duel on his YouTube channel to settle the dispute. Prasad’s witty reply to the same is winning the internet over.

‘Don’t wish to engage with you (Chopra) further on this’ – Venkatesh Prasad

“Venky bhai, msgs are getting lost in translation. You here. Me on YT. I invite you to come on a Video Chat…we can do it Live. Difference on opinions is nice… let’s do it properly. I’ll not have any sponsors on it & nobody will make money out of it. Up for it? You have my number,” Aakash Chopra tweeted.

Only a few moments later, Prasad lashed out at Chopra with his witty reply denying Chopra’s invitation for a video duel and highlighting his ‘agenda peddler’ accusation.

“No, Aakash, nothing is lost in translation. In your 12-minute video, you have called me an agenda peddler because it didn’t suit your narrative. And I have made my points very clear in this Twitter thread. Don’t wish to engage with you further on this,” Prasad replied, putting him in his place.

Speaking of KL Rahul, he has been brought down from his vice-captaincy role in the Indian Test team for the remainder of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Tests. India are currently leading the 4-Test BGT series 2-0, but KL Rahul has failed to impress. He has not been able to get past the 30-run mark in his last nine innings. The situation is unfortunate because excellent replacements like Shubman Gill are warming the bench.
