Former Indian skipper and modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli has achieved a new milestone with his 29th Test century in the ongoing second and last of the two-match Test series against West Indies. With this century, Kohli has become the first-ever cricketer in the history of the game to score a century in the 500th international appearance.
Apart from this, he has also become the fastest to score 76 international centuries as he completed this milestone in the 500th international match. The 34-year-old surpassed the former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar and former Aussie great Ricky Ponting. Earlier, the record was on Sachin Tendulkar’s name who had 75 centuries in 500 international matches.
Subsequently, the cricket fans were also elated and overjoyed following this historic achievement by one of the most successful batters ever played the game for India. Speaking of Kohli’s knock in the ongoing second Test against West Indies, he got dismissed in a run-out on the individual score of 121 runs to establish India in a commanding position in the match.
Talking about the current action of the match at the Port of Spain in Trinidad, India had posted a total of 373 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the time of lunch on the second day of the match.
