On the fourth day of the fourth Test between India and England in Ranchi, Yashasvi Jaiswal matched Virat Kohli’s total of 655 runs, making him the joint-second-highest Indian run-scorer in a home Test series. Kohli achieved this feat in 2016 during England’s five-match series in India, amassing two centuries and two half-centuries in eight innings, with a top score of 235.
Sunil Gavaskar maintains his position at the top of this ranking, having amassed 732 runs in the six matches against the West Indies in 1978/79. In contrast, Jaiswal, participating in only his third Test series for India, currently leads the run-scoring charts in the ongoing five-match series, having scored two double centuries.

India need 192 runs to win the series
After having 46 runs after the first innings the England team showed a dismal show in the second innings of the fourth Test match as the team were dismissed by 145 runs. The star of the show for India were Ravichandran Ashwin who picked up five wickets whereas Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with four wickets.
In reply, with 192 runs to win, the match stands still with India at 118/3 on board at Lunch in the fourth Test. In pursuit of the total, Rohit Sharma led the Indian batting with a fighting half-century as he scored a brilliant 55 runs off just 81 balls. Currently, Shubman Gill (18) and Ravindra Jadeja (3) are at the crease with 74 runs more needed to win the Test match and take a 3-1 lead in the series.
