Sunrisers Hyderabad had one of the best auctions in recent times and have built a great squad at least on paper. Their support staff will have the large say now on which players make the cut to play in their line-up during the upcoming edition of the IPL. They have an option of plenty which might be a good thing for the team management. For the first time, all their eight overseas players deserve to start. They have covered all the bases which is one of the biggest positives for them after the IPL Auctions 2024.
They are still going with their old philosophy of having a great Indian core in their bowling. The Hyderabad-based franchise have the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik and have added Jaydev Unadkat to their fray of things. Their primary Indian spinner, Mayank Markande might have support from Wanindu Hasaranga if he makes the playing XI.
Who are Sunrisers Hyderabad banking on?
The major chunk of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s campaign depends on how their Indian batters perform throughout the season. Mayank Aggarwal and Rahul Tripathi, who bat in the top order have to take the onus of the batting right from the start. If they can have great seasons, then SRH might be one of the first teams to qualify for the play-offs in the forthcoming edition of the league.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad Management would have to take a call on their captaincy. There are rumours that Aiden Markram’s spot as skipper is not yet sure for IPL 2024. The South African batter has been a great leader for their SA20 team and is in good touch. However, after splashing INR 20.50 crores on Pat Cummins, the management might be tempted to name the ODI World Cup 2023 winner as their skipper.
