Australian Test batter Usman Khawaja has created a debate in India after his recent comments. The 37-year-old has labelled Virat Kohli better than Sachin Tendulkar in ODI cricket, which hasn’t gone down well with a lot of Indian Cricket Fans.
The comments were made when Khawaja was speaking to a TV Channel and spoke about the two Indian batters. Virat Kohli, without a doubt, is a modern-day run machine but such comparisons have always left a poor taste in the mouths of Indian fans.
Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batters to play the game of cricket. The 50-year-old retired from the game 10 years ago. Despite Tendulkar being retired for nearly a decade his tall run-scoring record still stands the test of time.
Usman Khawaja calls Virat Kohli better than Sachin Tendulkar –
Speaking to a TV Channel, current Australian test batter Usman Khawaja created a stir. The 37-year-old has rated Virat Kohli higher than batting legend Sachin Tendulkar in the ODI format.
Khawaja said “I am going to say Virat Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs. If you look at the stats, he has almost taken over how many hundreds he (Tendulkar) has got, and he has played so many less games. Sachin was the benchmark for when I grew up, but what Kohli is doing right now—no one has ever done that in the game.”
The Australian batter also lauded Virat Kohli for his contributions when he said “He improves players around him. Everyone likes to play with him; he drives standards high. When he came into the team, he wanted to leave a legacy, and he has done that with the way this Indian team is presented, the number one in all three forms of the game going into this World Cup”
Virat Kohli and Usman Khawaja recently were on the opposite sides during the World Test Championships finals. The Australian team won the title to become the only side to win every cricket global title.
Speaking about Kohli, the Australian had this to say “The other thing I like about him is how he controls the tempo of the game when he bats. He has got different gears. He can go in and take the game away from you, and can also get into a shell when he has to. He just controls the whole tempo of the game”

Kohli played with two new balls and more fielders inside the 30 yard circle with good bats and arguably easy bowlers.

I disagree, you can't just decide based on numbers. We need to look on several factors such as who he faced, pitch conditions during that era and mainly umpires ?????

Don't judge by Stat only. Even Kohli won't agree it.
