In the Deodhar Trophy 2023 final held at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground in Puducherry, South Zone batsman Rohan Kunnummal made his mark by smashing a superb century against East Zone.

Kunnummal was sure to get his squad off to a fast start during the high-pressure game by choosing to bat first. The right-hander started the game with good intentions and tried to score runs as soon as the ball was hit. He put the East Zone bowling under a tonne of threat and partnered with captain Mayank Agarwal for 181 runs.

Rohan Kunnummal scored 107 runs from 75 balls after playing some ferocious shots. He reached his tonne in just 68 balls and was shooting strokes all over the place. In order to build a strong foundation for his team, he batted having an average strike rate of 142.67 and scored an excellent knock which included 11 fours as well as 4 sixes.

Even if his knock was something to be proud of, his celebration when he finally reached the top drew many people’s attention. Virat Kohli’s “bat does the talking” celebration was imitated by Rohan Kunnummal.

Mayank Agarwal, the captain of South Zone, has been in excellent form throughout the current Deodhar Trophy 2023. One of the primary factors in his team’s success in the domestic tournament was the opening hitter, who has been constantly scoring runs.

In the Deodhar Trophy final, Mayank Agarwal blasted a spectacular half-century and finished with a score of 63 runs. His total now stands at 341 runs across 6 games after his knock in the finals.

East Zone was reeling at 14/3 and needed to score 329 runs to win. That quickly changed to 72/4 as Parag strolled out to join Sudip Kumar Gharami in the middle, and the two quickly put together a 43-run partnership.

The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder later placed the game squarely in the balance by putting up a 105-run stand with Kumar Kushagra for the sixth wicket. He maintained his outstanding form and appeared to be headed for his third century in as many games until being caught in front against off-spinner Washington Sundar. That wicket brought the game back into the hands of South Zone from where they went on to win the game.
