For the first time in many years, India and Pakistan locked horns at the Kanteerva Stadium, Bangalore in the SAFF championship 2023. Ahead of the game, the Men In White, Pakistan arrived only a few hours ahead of the game. During the game, the Blue Tigers dominated the game, scoring the first two goals in the first half.
In the first minute of the second half, India’s coach interrupted Pakistan’s player’s throwing the ball after it went outside of the playing area. The former was issued a red card after this incident. Right before this, the Pakistani player and the Indian coach almost were at each other. However, the match referee intervened alongside the players from both teams to prevent any mishap.
Talking about the game, India won by 4-0 with skipper Suniel Chhetri scoring three goals.
