Rajasthan Royals have had a reasonably successful season in the Indian Premier League 2023. They have four of their seven games so far and currently stand third in the points table with three wins. One of the reasons for their success has been Trent Boult, who has excelled with the new ball.
However, the star pacer from New Zealand is not a part of the Playing XI in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings. At the toss, RR captain Sanju Samson revealed that Boult will miss the game due to a niggle. “Boult misses out due to a niggle, Zampa is playing in his place,” Samson said at the toss.
As it turns out, Boult also missed the first game against CSK this season, played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai’s home ground. The fans have since been trolling the star pacer for not playing against one of the most successful teams in the IPL.
“This ipl is fixed imagine boult missing 2 matches against csk, giving an advantage to Ruturaj, anyway rigged ipl is also enjoyable,” wrote a user on Twitter. “Waise bhi RR’s case was weak today and with the form Rahane and team are in, good luck,” wrote another user.
In the meantime, Samson won the toss and decided to bat first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Both teams have looked good throughout this season and will look to continue their run. While the inaugural champions made one change to their XI, the four-time champions CSK went unchanged.
“We like to stick to our strength, which is to defend. It feels really great to play RR’s 200th game, feels great to be playing for 10 years. Would love to see some pink here today, but it’s yellow and we know that the reason is,” the RR captain said at the toss.
