WATCH: Sanjay Manjrekar stares at fan in anger for shouting ‘Jadeja… Jadeja’ during 3rd BGT Test

The feud between Sanjay Manjrekar and Ravindra Jadeja that erupted during the 2019 World Cup is a well-known story. While the two people involved seemed to have moved on from the incident, fans on social media always remind the two of their spat.

One of the fans, who was present in Indore during the third Test match between India and Australia shouted “Jadeja…Jadeja”. The fan recorded Manjrekar’s reaction and later uploaded it to Twitter, where it quickly went viral after the Indore Test.

The video was taken on the first day of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy match at Holkar Stadium. Manjrekar was preparing for the broadcast of the first session for Star Sports alongside Australian legend Matthew Hayden. At that point, one of the audience members called out Jadeja’s name. Manjrekar did not say anything but gave a death stare.

Manjrekar referred to Jadeja as a “bits and pieces cricketer” during the 2019 ODI World Cup. Jadeja, enraged, took to Twitter to slam the former India batter for his remark. “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar,” he tweeted.

That wasn’t the end of it. Later, the all-rounder responded in epic fashion by scoring 77 runs against New Zealand, celebrating his half-century in trademark style and directing it straight towards the media box.

Manjrekar commented on Jadeja’s performance in the semi-final match, which India lost, saying:  “I have to apologise to him (Ravindra Jadeja), he was looking for me but I wasn’t there. I was in the lounge taking my lunch, I’m sorry.”

Three years later, Manjrekar decided to break the ice when he was asked to interview Jadeja following the India star’s Player of the Match award in a game. . “You are okay, right, to talk to me, Jaddu?” Manjrekar asked. Jadeja couldn’t stop smiling as he replied, “Yeah, yeah, absolutely”.
