The third edition of the Lanka Premier League is going to start on 6 December 2022. Initially, this league got postponed in July due to the economic crisis in the country. They had issues conducting that tournament properly at that time. Jaffna Kings will begin the tournament as the defending champions in the last two seasons.
They will play Galle Gladiators in the tournament opener in Hambantota. Big-name players like Hasaranga and Kusal Mendis will be in action. However, after such an economic crisis situation, this season will be a huge boost for Sri Lankan fans.
