On 2 December 2022, all four teams of Group H were in action in the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Portugal already sealed their spot in the knockout after winning their first two matches. But, other teams also had chances to qualify for the next round. Portugal locked horns with South Korea in the Education City Stadium.
On the other hand, Uruguay took on Ghana in Al Janoub Stadium. So, fans were expecting a better show from Uruguay as it was a must-win affair for them. However, Cristiano Ronaldo started the match despite reports of not playing in the match. It was another opportunity for the Portuguese superstar to extend his goal tally in the World Cup.

South Korea vs Portugal
Portugal had a blistering start to the game as they took an early lead in the fifth minute. Ricardo Horta scored the goal and Diogo Dalot assisted him in that build-up. After that, South Korea came up with some attacking threats. They managed to score the equalizer in the 27th minute. Kim Young-gwon scored from a corner.
The ball got deflected to Portugal’s defender and then, Kim slotted that ball into the goal. Finally, the first half ended 1-1. In the 70th minute of the second half, South Korea had a chance to take a lead in the game. But, Cancelo came up with a huge block to prevent Son. But, in the 90+1′ minute, South Korea managed to double their lead. Hwang Hee-chan scored the goal while Son Heung-min gave the assist. Finally, they won the match 2-1.
Uruguay vs Ghana
Uruguay looked more determined against Ghana in this clash since the kickoff. However, against the run of play, Ghana got a penalty in the 21st minute. But, Andre Ayew missed the opportunity to give a lead to his country miserably. Then, Giorgian De Arrascaeta scored two goals in the 26th and 32nd minute respectively for Uruguay.
Thus, the first half ended 2-0 in favor of Uruguay. In the second half, Ghana had a chance to open the scoring. In the 47th minute, Kudus Mohammed had a chance but failed to convert the effort. In the 58th minute, Uruguay had a penalty. However, VAR checked it and overruled the decision. However, Uruguay won the match 2-0. But, it was not enough for them to get qualified for the next round.
