Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is enjoying his time off the game after the 20-20 World Cup 2022. According to reports, the former Indian captain has rented an apartment which is owned by a former cricketer. The 34-year-old was the leading run-scorer in the marquee event in Australia scoring 296 runs in six innings.
After garnering attention with his stupendous batting performances in the 20 -20 World Cup 2022, the modern-day batting great is now hogging the limelight for buying and renting properties in Maharashtra. The Delhi cricketer – who owns quite a few properties in the Delhi-NCR – is also buying in Mumbai and the adjoining areas.
As per a report published in the Indian Express, Kohli and Anushka – who are known as Virushka among fans – have taken a sea-facing apartment on rent. The apartment – which is present on the fourth floor – has a floor area of 1,650 square feet of the High Tide building.
As per reports, the Delhi-born-cricketer has paid a deposit of Rs 7.50 lakh at the time of registration. The registration of the apartment was done on October 17.
Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, a descendant of the royal family of Vadodara, is the owner of the apartment. He’s a former first-class cricketer-turned-administrator and received a large portion of his family’s fortune in a 2013 settlement.
India to play New Zealand in an ODI series
Meanwhile, team India is in New Zealand for T20I and ODI series. Senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested from the tour. India were led by Hardik Pandya in the T20I series which they won by a margin of 1-0 after the rain-struck third T20I eventually ended in a tie through the DLS method. The ‘Men-in-blue’ had already secured a 65-run victory in the second T20I on Sunday which helped them win the series.
The action will now move to ODIs starting from 25th November. Shikhar Dhawan will be seen leading the team in ODIs with Rishabh Pant as his deputy. The first match of the three-match series will be played at Eden Park, Auckland.
