Cricket in India is a religion and stadiums, a pilgrimage. There are millions of cricket fans in the country who go above and beyond to watch their favourite players take to the ground.
The same fandom however often brings out bad experiences for the fans. One such fiasco was seen in Hyderabad ahead of India- Australia third T20I match when many fans were injured in the stampede while collecting tickets at the Gymkhana Grounds. Although Ranchi, the host for second India- South Africa ODI match did not see any such incident, fans have come out seething from the experience. Indian fans have taken to Twitter and have called out the Jharkhand Cricket Association and the Indian Cricket Board for creating the process of getting tickets, being tedious and unnecessary.
Many posted their ordeal on Twitter saying how they had to stand in the queue for hours to get the physical copy of the ticket despite buying it online. India cricket team fans have since then asked the office bearers to take strict action against the mismanagement and use technology to make the lives of the fans a little easier.
A fan by the name, Omnarayan Tiwari took to Twitter to express his anger at the mismanagement. He posted a picture from the long queue and tagged the Indian Cricket Board, Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah in his post that read, “Very pathetic situation here at the stadium, Ranchi. After taking online ticket, now I have to stand in que for physical tickets for 2 days. Very bad management. Offline tickets very easy to get. We r feeling cheated…pls take action.”
Indian team is going head to head against South Africa in the second ODI after having lost the first one in Lucknow.
Here’s fans’ ordeal while booking India vs South Africa second ODI tickets.
2/4 I stood there for almost 6hrs but still couldn't get the ticket. There were only 2 counters for online ticket pick up that too it was so slow. I am very much disappointed by the mgmt of JSCA that they couldn't even provide tickets to 100 people standing in line from 1PM-7PM

This is the Q to collect physical ticket (which is online Purchased already) of Ind Vs SA 2nd ODI Cricket match at JSCA Stadium, Ranchi. If ticket is purchased online then why people should have to stand in Q whole day? #BCCI #JSCA pic.twitter.com/dnYvAdUO8k

What is the advantage of booking online tickets if people have to wait for 2 days in long queues at counters that too after paying extra convenience fee ??? pic.twitter.com/i1oV2bgVLH— Sourav Dutta (@Sourav8797) October 8, 2022

Last time when I visited JSCA it was vacant with my dad and few friends. The stadium was newly built and Amitabh Choudhary was the chairperson then. If JSCA gets to host any of the matches of World Cup 2023, I'll definitely not miss being an audience. ?? Good Luck IND!
