Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne has quickly risen through the ranks and found himself ranked at no two in Test Cricket. Having made his debut against Pakistan in 2018, Labuschagne is considered the backbone of the Australian batting lineup. Apart from his scintillating shots on the pitch, the Australian batter is also known for his bizarre leave technique while batting.
During a Sheffield Shield clash between Queensland and Tasmania on Friday, the 28-year-old once again left the cricket fans in splits with his unique leaving technique.
Labuschagne prepared to leave Peter Siddle’s good-length delivery, raising his bat above his arms and offered no shot in the 93rd over of Queensland’s innings. However, he was in for a surprise as the ball swung back in and hit the batter on his pads right in front of the stumps.
Seeing himself in front of the stumps, Labuschagne decided to walk back to the pavilion even before the umpire raised his finger. He was seen marching back to the dressing room hilariously stuck in his leaving stance. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Labuschagne’s biggest test as a batter will be against India in the Border Gavaskar Series 2023. The star batter will have to counter the lethal spin trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel.
Australia are currently ranked at the top in the World Test Championship standings with a points percentage of 70. The Aussies will have to do well in the Test series against India to keep their hopes of qualifying for the WTC final alive.
