The 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Australia is currently underway. Teams such as India, South Africa, New Zealand etc. have put in brilliant performances and the fans are excited to see which four teams qualify for the knockout stage. Amidst this, the Indian Cricket Board have sent a deadline of 16th November to all the Indian T20 League franchise to finalize their 15-member squad.
The Indian T20 League mini-auction is slated to take place on 16th December and, it could well take place outside of the country for the first time in the history of the competition. The teams would be looking to trim down their squad and a lot of good players could face harsh axing ahead of the auction. Here’s a look at five such players:
1. Kieron Pollard
Kieron Pollard has been a veteran for Mumbai in the Indian T20 League. He has served the franchise for several years in the cash-rich league and helped them win a lot of matches with his batting masterclass. Pollard, however, had a forgettable outing in the last edition.
He just couldn’t get going and struggled to play spin. Pollard is no longer the captain of the West Indies team and, perhaps, isn’t the batter that he used to be. With Mumbai having got the likes of Tim David, Tristan Stubbs, and Brevis, Kieron Pollard could face harsh axing ahead of the Indian T20 League auction.
