The Indian batter scored his third T20I century on Saturday.

Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best finds for India in the T20Is and the batter is proving it with every passing day, eventually bagging his third T20I hundred during the final T20I of the three-match series against Sri Lanka on January 7, Saturday and it came as a vital knock in a crucial situation for team India.

Although the likes of Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina stood out in the shortest format of the game, Suryakumar is fast approaching legendary stature, given his unorthodox style of play and efficiency. We decided to handpick three reasons why he could end up as the best-ever T20I batter for India.

Here are the three reasons:

3) Extreme fitness

Suryakumar is one of the fittest cricket of the current T20I setup and the batter, although made his debut late at the age of 30, could go on until his late 30s, eventually bagging more records to his name and becoming one of the greatest-ever T20I players to have ever played for the Men in Blue.

To add more, Suryakumar could play a variety of shots and it is his body dynamism that is still helping him to do the unbelievable, eventually making him stand out from all others. Given that the Indian cricket board is banking on fitness, he would be in the squad for at least 6 years from now on.

2) Plays all parts of ground

India, until the arrival of Suryakumar Yadav, seldom witnessed players who could hit the ball to all parts of the ground. One of the main reasons for former South African cricketer AB de Villiers to reach fame in the country was his ability to hit the ball all around the ground, behind the wicketkeeper as well.

Eventually, over time, the right-handed batter from India started scoring in all parts of the ground, earning the name ‘Mr 360’ and becoming a nightmare batter for all of the pacers in the domestic circuit and in the international arena as well.

1) Suryakumar Yadav’s staggering records in just 45 T20Is

Suryakumar Yadav made his debut after crushing all of the domestic Indian bowlers and foreign pacers in the Indian T20 League. One has to agree, since his first appearance for the Indian team, it has been only an upward journey for the right-handed batter, eventually cementing his place permanently in the T20I setup.

To add more, in 45 T20Is that he has played, Surya managed to bat in 43 innings and eventually has gathered 3 centuries to his name. With an average of 46.41, the right-handed batter has gathered 1578 runs in the format so far and at an impressive strike rate of 180.34 including 13 fifties.
