‘You are okay to talk to me, right Jaddu?’ -Ravindra Jadeja and Sanjay Manjrekar share a light moment before the post-match interview

You are okay to talk to me, right Jaddu? asked Manjrekar.

India emerged victorious by 5 wickets in their much-awaited clash against Pakistan on Sunday in the 2022 T20 Asia Cup. Hardik Pandya was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his brilliant all-round display. He was given valuable support by Ravindra Jadeja, who played a crucial knock of 35 off 29 balls.

If the on-field drama between the two sides wasn’t enough to entertain the crowd yesterday, there was another moment after the game that got the crowd roaring. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar took the interview of Jadeja after the match got over. However, even before Manjrekar asked a question, the left-handed batter was seen smiling constantly.

Looking at this, Manjrekar said, “First question, you are okay to talk to me, right Jaddu?”, to which, Jadeja calmly replied, “Yeah, Yeah. Absolutely,” as both of them burst out into laughter subsequently.

Notably, the controversy between Manjrekar and Jadeja began after the former had called the all-rounder a “bits-and-pieces” cricketer. The label didn’t go down well with Jadeja as he expressed his disappointment over his statement on Twitter. Manjrekar then sparked another controversy with Harsha Bhogle, following which he was also removed from the Star Sports commentary panel for sometime.

However, it looks like both Jadeja and Manjrekar have cleared the differences between them. Both of them looked comfortable while talking to each other after team India’s victory over Pakistan.

“We wanted to play till the end, they have a very good bowling attack, their fast bowlers don’t give anything away,” Jadeja said during the post-match interview with Sanjay Manjrekar. “I could have finished the game – left-arm spinner against a left-hander, but Hardik played superbly. He came out and said he was going to play his shots, and happy that he stayed till the end,” the all-rounder added.

Both India and Pakistan will now face Hong Kong in their next encounter. India’s game will play their next game on 31st August and Pakistan will play on September 2nd.
