Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh believes Virat Kohli can break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 hundreds by scoring at least 50 more centuries. In the recently concluded match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Kohli scored his 75th international century in India’s first innings against Australia.

Harbhajan Singh told SportsTak that Kohli has the fitness of a 24-year-old and that he can certainly score more than 100 centuries in international cricket. He went on to say that Kohli has at least 50 more centuries in him and that he is the only one who can break Tendulkar’s record. Kohli has 27 Test centuries, 46 ODI centuries, and a single T20I century.

“It’s certainly possible. I think he can score more than that (100 centuries). Two things favour Virat here: his age and his fitness. He’s 34 but his fitness is that of a 24-year-old cricketer. He’s way ahead in that aspect,” said Harbhajan.

“He has already scored 75 centuries, he can score at least 50 more. He knows his game and he plays all formats. You might think I’m going overboard with this, but it is certainly possible. If anyone can do it, it’s Virat Kohli. Rest all are far behind him,” Harbhajan added.

The 42-year-old said Kohli’s batting abilities are a gift from God, and he has no technical flaws in his game. Kohli has a Test average of 48.12, an ODI average of 57.69, and a T20I average of 52.73. Kohli scored 297 runs in the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, ranking second in the four-match Test series.

“He knew he had to work on his fitness because his batting abilities are god-gifted. I don’t think he will stop from here. There are no technical faults, and even if they are, he works on them and rectifies them. Since his return (after the break), he has already scored five centuries. This is pretty much a comeback for him,” said Harbhajan.
