‘Yeh kabhi haarti nahi , excuses deti hai’ – Fans react as Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur calls out umpiring standards after third ODI against Bangladesh Women ends in tie
India Women’s skipper Harmanpreeet Kaur slammed the umpiring standards after a thrilling tie against Bangladesh Women in the third and last of the three-match ODI series. She said that Team India will take care of and will be prepared to deal with this kind of umpiring whenever coming to Bangladesh next time.
“I think a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly,” said Harmanpreet Kaur during the post-match presentation.
This statement from the Indian captain drew a lot of reactions on social media. A section of cricket fans took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to come up with contrasting opinions and responses on Harmanpreet’s stand after the match.

Love this. Call out the miserable umpires, match officials are often protected in all sports despite their consistent horrific officiating.

Let's not become Pakistan to give such excuses of umpiring. You played well, learn from the cricketing experience & come back stronger. Like what Indian mens' team did in Gabba. Indians will always back both teams irrespective of the results.
Bangladesh played well?

We leaked a few runs – Kaur
Furthermore, in the post-match presentation, the Indian skipper also spoke about the game and praised Bangladesh for their batting. She once again termed the umpiring ‘pathetic’ while summing up her remarks.
“They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but we controlled the game very well when we were batting as I mentioned earlier. Some pathetic umpiring was done we are really disappointed about some decisions were given by umpires,” stated Harmanpreeet Kaur.
Speaking of the action of the third and last ODI, played in Mirpur, the hosts Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, they posted a total of 225 runs for the loss of 4 wickets courtesy of Fargana Hoque’s century, she played a knock of 107 runs; apart from this, her opening partner Shamima Sultana also scored 52 runs.
While chasing the target, the women in blue failed to cross the line and got bundled up in 225 runs in 49.3. Star opener Smriti Mandhana and middle-order batter, Harleen Deol played the knocks of 59 and 77 runs respectively.
