‘Ye toh 400+ totals maarte the na?’ – Fans react as India demolish South Africa as they complete 243-run win in ODI World Cup 2023

India were clinical with both bat and ball during their game against South Africa in the ODI World Cup 2023

Rohit Sharma came out with intent as he got India started to a blistering opening upon winning the toss and choosing to bat. His powerful 40 off 24 balls was a vital first move that established the pace for the middle order. He had completed his task when he was ordered back after attempting to strike Rabada.

Shubman Gill came off to a good start, but Maharaj outwitted him with a brilliant delivery, so he was unable to turn it into a massive one. Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli took their time at first, but once they had a glimpse, they repeatedly found boundaries. Specifically, Iyer changed gears and maintained the pace.

After Iyer left against the flow of play, KL Rahul left cheaply. On the other side, though, Kohli remained unwavering and got the scoreboard rolling. Before reaching his century, he slowed down, but Jadeja emerged and began hitting straight away.

In the end, Kohli equaled Sachin’s record with his 49th ODI century, and Jadeja added the winning stroke. While Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj bowled outstanding periods today, the rest of the team struggled.

Indian bowlers shine once again as they overcome clueless South Africa

When South Africa batted in response, it was immediately apparent that they were lightyears above par. Jasprit Bumrah maintained the pressure from one end while maintaining his unplayable form.

Quinton de Kock, the leading run scorer, was caught early by Mohammed Siraj when he chipped it on. Jadeja was called early by Rohit, and he immediately started claiming wickets. After Mohammed Shami entered and took two, Kuldeep showed up to finish the tail.

No batter from South Africa, was able to cross the score of 20 which speaks volumes of their batting performance. Virat Kohli scored 101 runs in 120 balls, meanwhile, South Africa got bundled out for a mere 83 runs.
