Former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made their presence felt in the stands at the Brabourne Stadium as Harmanpreet Kaur and co. made history by competing in the first-ever Women’s T20 League final against Delhi.
Some of the biggest stars in Indian cricket gathered to the stands on Sunday to see the inaugural WTL final between two of the biggest cities in the country. The players showed their support for Harmanpreet’s Mumbai team.
Who all came to support the Mumbai team in the WTL final?
Ishan Kishan and Indian captain Rohit were both in the audience for the Women’s T20 League 2023 final game in Mumbai. Mumbai’s batting attack will be led by the seasoned opener Rohit and the talented hitter Kishan in the 2023 Indian T20 League. The WPL 2023 final at the Brabourne Stadium was also attended by former Indian captain Tendulkar and speed demon Jasprit Bumrah.
Delhi won the toss and decided to bat first in the final of the WTL 2023 final. The Delhi batting order was shredded by MI bowlers, who held them to 131/9 in 20 overs.
For Mumbai, Hayley Matthews shone with the ball, taking three wickets while only allowing five runs in her four overs. Melie Kerr (2-18) contributed with a few wickets, and Issy Wong (3-42) also contributed with three scalps.
Meg Lanning, the captain of the Delhi franchise opened the inning by scoring 35 runs in 29 ball stay at the crease. It’ll be an intriguing chase as the pitch is slow and there is some help for the bowlers as well.
India’s prime pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, underwent back surgery last month in New Zealand, but only NCA president and former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman is aware of the specifics of his recuperation.
The Indian cricket board has designated Laxman as the only person to receive regular reports from Bumrah, according to reports. The severity of his back issue and the ensuing operation remain unknowns even to the selectors.
