In the 30th match of The Hundred, Welsh Fire beat Northern Superchargers by eight wickets. Despite a one-man army show from Harry Brook, Superchargers failed to win the game. Brook, due to his amazing batting performance, won the Player of the Match award.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, the Superchargers failed to capitalise on the opportunity. The duo of Matt Henry and David Willey rips through the Superchargers’ batting line-up. NORS lost four wickets for just 28 runs in 33 balls. The team was looking far away from victory, but Brook had some other plans.

Coming to bat at number 5, Brook single-handedly changed the momentum of the game. He scored the fastest century of the tournament by smashing 105 runs off 42 balls with the help of eleven fours and seven sixes. Brook toyed all around the park and helped NORS post a competitive total. Superchargers posted 158/7 in 100 deliveries. For Welsh Fire, Willey took two wickets, while Matt Henry, D Payne, Van der Merwe, and L Wells got one wicket each.

After a humiliating batting performance, the Superchargers continued to hammer themselves. With a poor balling performance, they helped Wales win the game. Welsh opener Stephen Eskinazi, along with Jonny Bairstow, added 77 runs for the first wicket. Eskinazi scored 58 runs off 28 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. On the other hand, Bairstow scored 44 runs off 39 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes.

In the end, wicketkeeper-batter Joe Charles and L. Wells finished the game. Charles, in his innings, scored an unbeaten 42 runs off 22 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. For Superchargers, Adil Rashid and Brydon Crease took one wicket each. With this victory, Welsh Fire moved to third place in the points table with nine points in eight games.
