The Ashes 2023
‘Ye hota haina asli rivalry’ – Fans react to fun banter between Australian and UK Prime Ministers over the Ashes
The Australian Prime Minister and the UK Prime Minister spoke about the 2023 Ashes and had brought some unique pictures as well.
At the NATO meeting on July 11, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak had a fun banter regarding the ongoing series, the Ashes 2023. Both leaders are seen sharing laughter in a video that Albanese posted on Twitter. The Australian Prime Minister pulled out a piece of paper that read, “2-1,” highlighting the series scoreline, which stands in favour of Australia.
Sunak responded by showing the image of Mark Wood and Chris Woakes celebrating after clinching the third Test at Headingley with three wickets. This victory maintained England’s chances of claiming the series with two tests remaining. With a photo of Jonny Bairstow’s contentious stumping during the second Test, which Australia won by 43 runs, Albanese retaliated. Sunak responded, saying, “I am sorry, I didn’t bring my sandpaper with me.”

How did Australian and UK Prime Ministers react after second Test?
After Australia’s win at Lord’s which had a controversial conclusion due to Bairstow’s dismissal, which also sparked debate all across cricketing fraternity, Albanese showed his support to the team and the captain. He shared a tweet from captain Pat Cummins in support of Alex Carey. The Australian PM wrote, “I’m proud of our men’s and women’s cricket teams, who have both won their opening two #Ashes matches against England. Same old Aussies – always winning! Australia is right behind @ahealy77, @patcummins30, and their teams and look forward to welcoming them home victorious.”
Earlier, in response to the contentious dismissal, Sunak expressed feelings that resonated with those of England skipper Ben Stokes. The spokeswoman for the UK PM said in a statement, “Simply wouldn’t want to win a game in the manner Australia did. The prime minister agrees with Ben Stokes. He said he simply wouldn’t want to win a game in the manner Australia did.”
Starting on July 19, the fourth Test is scheduled to be held at Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford, and the fifth Test at Kennington Oval in London later this month. The fourth match is a must-win game for England, and any other result would mean that Australia will retain the Ashes.

Sub continent people will rip their leaders apart for discussing Cricket instead of important bilateral talks for betterment and welfare of the country even though they watch this sports more than any of them.
