Amit Mishra, the former Indian spinner, took a dig at Babar Azam after the latter failed to make it big against Netherlands on October 30, Sunday. For the unversed, the right-handed batter made only 4 runs before he was run out on the back of a great throw from Roelof van der Merwe. However, Pakistan managed to take an effective win against Scott Edward and his men as they chased down the target of 94 within 14 overs and with 6 wickets to spare.
Tracing back to Babar’s tweet where he motivated Virat Kohli when the Indian star was going through a rough phase, Mishra tweeted something similar, which did not go well with the former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi.
To comment more on the same, earlier, Babar had tweeted, “This too shall pass. Stay strong. #ViratKohli” in a view to cheer up the Indian giant in July. Mishra, who tried to troll the Pakistani captain for his dry phase, posted the same and advised Babar to stay strong. “This too shall pass. Stay strong” Mishra tweeted on Sunday tagging the Pakistani batter.

Commenting on Pakistan’s performance, Afridi, who was analyzing the team on Samaa TV, questioned if Mishra was a spinner or a batter and rubbed off the Indian cricketer’s comments on the Men in Green captain.
“Ye jo aap naam le rahe hain Amit Mishra, ye bhi India se khela hua hai? Ye spinner tha ki batsman tha? Koi baat nahi. Chalein aage. This too shall pass [This person, Amit Mishra, has he also played for India? Was he a spinner or a batsman? Do not worry. Let’s move on],” Afridi said on Samaa TV.
Pakistan were heavily dependent on team India to defeat South Africa on Sunday’s clash to give themselves a chance to make it through to the knockouts. However, things did not go as planned as the Rohit Sharma-led team lost to the Proteas making equations tough for Pakistan. Babar and his men will face off against South Africa in the epic battle on November 3 and it is a must-win game for Pakistan, even though their chances of making it through to the next stage look bleak as of now.
