Pakistani Cricket Team is on the verge of elimination from the ODI World Cup 2023. New Zealand’s huge win over Sri Lanka has for all intents and purposes knocked out the 1992 World Cup winners. Ahead of the final game against England, Wasim Akram has come up with a humorous suggestion for Babar Azam and his side.

The Pakistanis now have to beat England by a huge margin on Saturday in Kolkata. The task is almost impossible considering the permutations after it was calculated. The semi-final lineup is more or less confirmed as we head into the final week of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament.

In the first semi-finals in Mumbai on Wednesday, India will take on New Zealand. The second semi-finals will witness the Australians take on South Africa. The winners of the games will play the finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Wasim Akram comes up with a humorous plan for Pakistan

Former Pakistani pace legend and skipper Wasim Akram has given a unique and funny idea for his team to make it to the next round. As per the show host, Wasim Akram had said “Pakistan should bat first and then lock England up in their dressing room and get them timed out in 20 minutes to win the match.”

Misbah Ul Haq chimed in and said “Allow England to bat first and lock up the dressing room after that. Why let them put up a total at all”. The guests in the show which included Moin Khan and Shoaib Malik burst out laughing at the suggestions.

The Pakistani side began the ODI World Cup 2023 with wins against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. The loss to India changed the whole situation as India won the encounter by 7 wickets. At one stage the men in green were 155/2 but lost their final 8 wickets for just 36 runs on the board.

In yet another shocking result, Afghanistan chased down 283 runs scored by Pakistan in Chennai to win by 8 wickets. These losses hurt the chances of Pakistan as they regrouped to beat Bangladesh and New Zealand in successive games.

New Zealand chased down the 171-run score set by Sri Lanka with 160 balls to spare. Since the Kiwis had achieved the target under 25-overs the Pakistanis now face a next to impossible task of reaching the semi-finals of the tournament.
