On Monday, Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav visited the world-famous Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district to seek the blessings of Baba Mahakal. On the occasion, he also took part in the ‘Bhasma Aarti’. Bhasma aarti (offering with ashes) is a well-known ritual that takes place between 4 and 5:30 a.m. during the Brahma Muhurta.

Following the Bhasma Aarti, he proceeded to the temple’s sanctum sanctorum and performed Jalabhishek. Speaking about his visit, Yadav said, “Today, I have reached here to worship Baba Mahakal. I prayed that everyone’s wishes and desires be fulfilled. There should be peace and happiness in the world.”

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma also visited the temple recently to seek Baba Mahakal’s blessings. They also took part in the ‘Bashma Aarti’ and performed the Jalabhishek in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.

Axar Patel and his wife had previously visited the temple and worshipped Baba Mahakal. KL Rahul and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty, who recently married, also went to the temple to seek Baba Mahakal’s blessings.

Fans on Twitter came up with hilarious reactions as the player visited the temple. They pointed out that all of the Indian players are visiting the temple one after the other and have been performing well after that.

Notably, Virat Kohli scored his 28th Test century after a gap of 1025 days post his visit in the final match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On the other hand, KL Rahul scored a match-winning half-century in the 1st ODI against Australia. Axar Patel has also been giving consistent performances in the series.

In the meantime, Umesh Yadav and his family have experienced a bittersweet few months. On February 23, 2023, he lost his father, who had been ill for a few months, during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The following month, he and his wife were blessed with a baby girl, who was born on March 8th.
