England currently lead the five-match Test series 1-0 after an epic win in Hyderabad against Team India.

The England squad has revealed their starting lineup for the February 2nd Test matchup with India in Visakhapatnam. In Visakhapatnam, Shoaib Bashir is scheduled to make his Test debut, taking Jack Leach’s place due to injury.

Leach hurt his knee fielding in the first Test matchup with Hyderabad. After bowling only a few overs in the first innings, the spinner bowled ten overs in the second. The 32-year-old did not show up for Wednesday’s training session either.

Another change has been made by England, who have replaced Mark Wood with James Anderson. The latter was Hyderabad’s lone seamer as well in the recently concluded Test match. He finished the match with stats of 25-2-62-0, going wicketless in both innings.

Concerns over his Pakistani heritage, off-spinner Bashir’s visa was delayed; nonetheless, he was able to reunite with the team during the first game in Hyderabad. Given that they are also concerned about a few injuries, it would be intriguing to watch how India lineups for the upcoming Visakhapatnam Test.

The first time I saw him was on Twitter: Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes, the captain of England and an all-round player, disclosed that they were pleased by some of Bashir’s early videos, which made the 20-year-old a desirable potential. In a news conference, he spoke about Bashir and his potential to start the Test. He said, “To be perfectly honest, Abu Dhabi was the first real live look I got at Bash. The first time I saw him was on Twitter. I think the County Championship [account] put a little clip together of him bowling against Sir Alastair.”

Ben Stokes added, “I’m in a WhatsApp group with Keysy and Baz. I actually did forward the clip on and said, ‘Have a look at this, this could be something we could work with on our India tour,’ and it just progressed from there.”
