Competitive sports can sometimes be a tough place especially if you don’t have the full backing of your board or management. Similar has been the case with Ishan Kishan who finds himself in a tricky position. Ishan Kishan has been in and out of the Indian team in all three formats for a year and a half. Despite performing reasonably well in the limited opportunities he got, he still hasn’t managed to seal his spot in either of the formats.

To overcome the disappointment and get rid of the travel fatigue Kishan took a break from the South Africa test series and got approval from the management and the Indian Cricket Board but spending time with Dhoni and appearing on a quiz show reportedly upset the team management.

In addition, Ishan Kishan didn’t even participate in the Ranji matches for Jharkhand and missed 5 consecutive matches for his franchise which made him unavailable for the England test series as well. Ishan Kishan was recently seen practicing with Hardik Pandya in Baroda which gave the selectors an impression that the youngster from Jharkhand is prioritizing IPL over domestic matches which has created a negative around the explosive southpaw.

Reports of politics against Ishan Kishan

There have been some reports floating in the circle that an influential official in the management has said that Ishan Kishan will not be considered for selection in the Indian for a year. According to a senior sports journalist Abhishek Tripathi, the Indian management and the Indian Cricket Board is board is being unjust to Ishan Kishan. He even went on to claim that they are playing politics on the youngster.

However, after the 2nd test, Indian coach Rahul Dravid refuted all the claims of a rift between Ishan Kishan and the management. He stated that Ishan Kishan would be considered for selection only after he plays some level of competitive cricket.
