Why Simon Katich stepped down as Hyderabad assistant coach?

Published on

In recent developments, Simon Katich has quit the position of Hyderabad’s assistant coach. This decision came a few days after the Indian T20 League mega auction. The reason behind his quitting has been understood as his disagreement with the management. Reportedly, Katich was also disappointed after the pre-auction plans were not executed properly in the mega auction.

The situation since the last season has not been right for Hyderabad. First, they sacked David Warner as their captain and then took him out of the playing XI. They also barred him from travelling with the team which led to massive criticism of the management. Trevor Bayliss and Brad Haddin also left their roles from the support staff and were replaced by Tom Moody and Simon Katich.

The auction also wasn’t the best for Hyderabad. Their team looks slightly incomplete and very vulnerable. It will be interesting to see if the team can overcome the lows of last season and emerge triumph in 2022.
