The Indian cricket board has announced India’s white-ball squad for the six-match limited-overs series against England. The newly announced team brings the main players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Harshal Patel into the squad keeping in mind the upcoming 20-20 World cup later this year. Their inclusion however has had a domino effect and other players had to make way in order to append them.

One such player is Sanju Samson, and the whole of Twitter seems to think that he has been unfairly removed from the second and third T20I matches. Sanju Samson had a good game against Ireland where he scored 77 off of 42 deliveries. The 27-year-old has been included in the first T20I but has to make way for others in the second and third.

The Rajasthan captain made 458 runs in 18 matches in the recently concluded Indian T20 League and took his team all the way to the final. Despite losing the final to Gujarat, Samson’s performance was lauded by all. Seeing his exclusion from the team has angered fans to show their disapproval for the squad.

Another section of fans have also questioned the Indian Cricket Board for the exclusion of Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the ODI squad, given that the next World Cup is in India and Bhuvneshwar would be really helpful in home conditions. The 32-year-old made a great comeback in the Indian T20 League and the recently concluded India- South Africa T20I series and was expected to make it into the limited over the side for the England tour.

The inclusion of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in India’s white-ball squad has also induced joy among cricket fans.

Here are the Twitter reactions after the Indian squad announcement.

After winning the recently-concluded T20I series against Ireland, the Indian white-ball team has now reached England and wait for the 5th Test to be over. Notably, India are playing England in a rescheduled match from the India tour of England in 2021. India will be led by Jasprit Bumrah in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who is out with a COVID infection.
