While Kohli looked to be the aggressor, Faf played a perfect supporting role to him. The luck favored him at the start and this got him going.

After the initial phase, Kohli found back his mojo. He started doing what he does best, rotating the strike and also hitting the occasional boundary. Kohli batting fluently at one end allowed Faf to play a second fiddle as he was finding it difficult in the middle. Kohli played a brilliant knock of 73 runs from 54 balls. He hits 8 fours and 2 sixes during his stay. Rashid Khan picked up his wicket at last in the 17th over of the innings.

Kohli’s knock gave much delight to the fans. The huge fan base of the talismanic batter was waiting for a long time for the man to regain his form. The most satisfying thing for the fans will be that it was a trademark Kohli knock. All the elements of a usual Kohli knock like rotation of strikes, occasional boundaries and aggressive body language was present in the knock.

Speaking of the match, Glenn Maxwell made sure that Kohli’s effort don’t go in vain. He played an explosive knock of 40 runs from 18 balls.
